What is a good dental plan/insurance if you don’t get it through work?

It needs to cover major work. Is insurance better than a discount plan?
Insurance is much better than a discount plan.
I have a discount plan through dentalplans.com I think I pay $79 a year and on major work it would probably give you about a 15% discount which is nothing for major work but it is better than paying full price.
Make sure you look at the details. Some of the discount plans have a waiting period. You have to pay the premiums for a year before you can have a crown or any other major work. I think Aflac (funny commercials with the duck) is like that.

dental payment plan with bad credit?
I want to get braces (Invisalign), but I doubt my insurance (Blue Cross/Blue Shield) will pay for it. I don’t have the money to pay for it cash. Will I have a hard time arranging a payment plan with the dentist if I have bad credit?
I used to have State Blue Cross Blue Shield when I worked for the state, and no they will not cover Invisalign because they will consider it a form of cosmetic dentistry. I am not sure if the larger plans will cover it or not.
I had a second coverage for my family and they do cover it. Sometimes depending on what you have done you can also use the second coverage and end up having to pay nothing, but this is not always the case.

anyone know of a good dental insurance that is affordable and wont make you pay upfront for services? help?
my family needs to finsd a Dental Plan where we can all be seen whenever we need and then are billed by the dentist after the dentist has billed the insurance. this day in age who can really afford to pay all upfont for dental care, esspecially when your broke and all the sudden you need a root canal and are in pain any suggestions?
